The Board of Directors supports the work of Youth Collaboratory by providing leadership and strategic governance to the organization and Executive Director.

The Youth Collaboratory Board of Directors is accepting applications for committed youth development experts who are interested in helping influence and strengthen the youth service field through participation on our board of directors. The Board of Directors supports the work of Youth Collaboratory by providing leadership and strategic governance to the organization and Executive Director. 

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about influencing and strengthening the field of youth development. It also provides excellent opportunities for professional development, networking, and civic engagement.

  • You have lived experience and/or you work in a senior role at your organization. Bottomline, we’re not just looking for executive directors! Deputy directors, program managers, and emerging leaders are encouraged to apply!

General requirements:

  • Attend 75% of board meetings and participate in one sub-committee. Meetings are held quarterly, and sub-committee meetings are held monthly, bi-monthly, or as needed. Meetings are generally held virtually with 1-2 in-person meetings per year.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director on strategic and financial objectives of the organization  
  • Act as an ambassador and represent the organization to outside stakeholders and potential supporters 
  • Review outcomes and metrics, evaluating impact, measuring performance, and effectiveness 
  • Regularly review and annually approve Youth Collaboratory’s annual budget, financial statements, audit reports, and aide in all material business decisions, which include being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Serve on a committee and take on special assignments, as needed 
  • Contribute to an annual performance evaluation of the Executive Director  
  • Use your community and/or professional networks to share Youth Collaboratory’s goals and outcomes with the goal of expanding support for its mission
  • Consider Youth Collaboratory as a philanthropic priority
