How are States doing when it comes to child well-being? Are children who are homeless graduating? Has the number of teen child births increased? Each year the Annie E Casey  Foundation updates its Kids Count compendium of state by state indicators of child wellbeing. Kids Count 2017 is released along with another data resource that examines graduation of homeless youth.  Released by SchoolHouse Connection, Civic Enterprises, America’s Promise Alliance, and the Institute for Children, Poverty, & Homelessness (ICPH),  50 state progress reports summarizes available state-level data on the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness, from early childhood through postsecondary education. The first edition has data from a limited number of states but with the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) requirement to capture this data, the number of states representing should increase each year. The Department of Education has released data for all school districts that reported homeless students in the U.S during School Year 2015-16. You can download the data file and the related documentation file at https://www2.ed.gov/about/inits/ed/edfacts/data-files/school-status-data.html. Another source of information on education is the Consolidated State Performance Report (CSPR) data for School Year 2015-16 just released on ED Data Express. You can search for your state, a group of states, or the entire U.S. by going to https://eddataexpress.ed.gov/state-tables-main.cfm
