Youth Collaboratory is protecting runaway and homeless youth programs and supporting juvenile justice by calling on Congress to pass the Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018 (H.R. 6964). This bill would reauthorize juvenile justice programming at the U.S. Department of Justice. It has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives in a bipartisan manner and is currently under consideration by the U.S. Senate.

Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018 (H.R. 6964) is the best option to reauthorize juvenile justice programs.  Recently, previous juvenile justice bills have included amendments that would reduce authorized funding for Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) programs. The House-passed version of H.R. 6964 secures a future for juvenile justice programs without impacting RHY funding.

The 115th Congress will adjourn for a final time in only a few short weeks.  NOW is the time to pass H.R. 6964. If RHY or juvenile justice programs are important to you, please consider signing your organization on to this letter to Congress from the National Network for Youth and allied organizations.  The deadline for signatures is COB on Thursday, November 29.
