FYSB Invites Applications to Operate Programs Supporting Runaway, Homeless, and Street Youth 

The Administration for Children and Families Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) administers a series of programs that provide critical supports for youth to find safety, meet basic needs, and move forward into healthy independent adulthood. Four of these programs are currently inviting applications for funding, all with deadlines in July.

Transitional Living Program and Maternity Group Homes projects will work to implement, enhance, and/or support promising intervention strategies for the effective transition of homeless youth (for the purposes of MGH projects, homeless youth and their dependent children) to sustainable living. Basic Center Programs operates as crisis intervention and stabilization by providing temporary shelter and counseling services to youth who have left home without permission of their parents or guardians, have been forced to leave home, or other homeless youth who might otherwise end up in the law enforcement or in the child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems.  Deadline:  July 14, 2017 Learn more: https://ami.grantsolutions.gov/HHS-2017-ACF-ACYF-CY-1239

Street Outreach Programs are designed to youth where they are, literally. Today, in communities across the country, young people are living on the streets after running from or being asked to leave homes characterized by abuse, neglect, family conflict, or parental drug and alcohol abuse.  Once on the streets, such youth are at risk of being sexually exploited or abused for pleasure or profit. Project provide street-based services to runaway, homeless, and street youth who have been subjected to or are at risk of being subjected to sexual abuse, prostitution, sexual exploitation, and severe forms of trafficking in persons. OJJDP Invites Applications to Support Mentoring for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children

This program supports the efforts of eligible applicant organizations to develop or enhance their mentoring capacity, facilitate outreach efforts, and increase the availability of direct services for child victims (younger than age 18) of Commercial Sexual Exploitation/Domestic Sex Trafficking, including children who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Walmart Foundation State Giving Program Supports Organizations in Addressing Needs of the Underserved

The Walmart Foundation State Giving Program awards grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico for programs that give individuals access to a better life. They current invite applications for the third of their 3-cycle funding plan for the year.  Applications will be considered from organizations nationwide in the following categories: Hunger Relief supports programs such as food pantries, backpack programs, and SNAP outreach. Community Engagement supports other programs that focus on the unmet needs of underserved low-income populations. Applications will be accepted from August 7 through August 11, 2017. STOP Formula Grant Program Solicitation

Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), under the Office of Justice Programs, invites applications to operates STOP projects in an effort to develop and strengthen effective responses to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. The Services* Training* Officers* Prosecutors (STOP) Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program (STOP Formula Grant Program) is authorized by VAWA and subsequent legislation.
